Charlotte Cripwell has a BA Honours in Music and Fine Art from Oxford Brookes University and went on to study portraiture at The Charles Cecil School. She now lives in Cornwall and has been painting private commissions, by word of mouth, for over 20 years all over Europe.
She paints quickly, with a need to capture the mood and fleeting spirit of her sitters. The whole experience aims to be fun and chatty. Having one’s image made more permanent in this ever changing world is immensely flattering, not to mention, the ultimate airloom. Children particularly, she says, love to be painted, and it inspires them to try it themselves.
